DGDA and Diriyah Municipality Hold Second Date Farmer’s Market

The Diriyah Gate Development Authority (DGDA), in collaboration with the Diriyah Municipality, participated in organizing the second edition of the Date Farmer’s Market, which commenced in August. This seasonal event aims to provide a platform for local farmers to sell directly to consumers and retail buyers. 

The event provides farmers with the opportunity to do business conveniently in a safe and secure environment, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of the market as a whole in a dedicated area near the AlFaisaliyah district’s Moudhi Al-Othman Mosque. 

This second edition of the Diriyah Date Farmer’s Market is one way in which DGDA continues to play an active role in supporting the Diriyah community, assisting farmers and local businesses, as well as promoting Diriyah’s dates and date-based products that farms in and around Diriyah is known for.

Through its Community Engagement department, DGDA’s collaboration in organizing this event is one of the many corporate social responsibility efforts it engages in throughout the year to serve the local community. This initiative ultimately aims to support local agricultural activities, enhance food security, boost farmers’ revenue, and create jobs within the local community. 

The initiative speaks to DGDA’s unwavering support for the agricultural sector, in line with its broader community engagement strategy.  Working alongside other entities within the city, DGDA aims to maximize the use of Diriyah’s resources, capture the full benefit of the economy,-boosting Diriyah project, and help Diriyah transform into a leading cultural and tourist destination.
